Marjorie In the beginning of class we call in the spirits of the four directions, north, south, east, and west, by ringing tambourines and whistles as well as calling to them in words, this energy is inspiring and awakening. This ritual is completed with a coating of sage smoke gracefully cleansing our bodies and senses. This awakening and collecting of intentions is carried through out the meeting, with a freshly brewed tea, tonic that is good for which ever subject matter we are learning at the time.
